The first album by me as Hect has been released. It is roughly 45 minutes shorter than I hoped it would be, making it a short EP, but it is finished. You can download 320 kbit/s MP3’s of the whole album here. You can also listen to it on the hect music Myspace page and the Soundclick page.

I hope some people listen and like it. I have learned a lot recording this and will apply the experience to any future releases.

This album was originally intended to be a full length album. It ended up being more of a really short EP. This is the first album I have made as Hect. All music was written and performed by Colin Hill, except for the amazing flute playing by my beautiful girlfriend Caitlin Plavala on Ko.

Still recording the album, if anyone cares.

I decided to not include the songs from my first album, and leave that album intact even though the production and performance is quite lame.  When I post the new album I will also post the first album, but keep in mind that it is lame.

The reason for this is that when I try to re-record a song I’ve already recorded, it just ends up sounding different, not better.  So I have learned that it is best to just not try to re-record something I’ve already completed, even if I’m unhappy with the end result.

Maybe in the future I will re-record the songs from the first album someday.  Probably not.
